Wallstrip End of Year Blowout

This week’s been a big one at Wallstrip. We kicked things off on Monday with a one on one with Facebook himself, followed by an exclusive interview with condom usage expert Dr. Lucy Bonham, then a year-in-review look at the stock market.

Today Lindsay sits down with Brian Conley of Alive in Baghdad. Alive in Baghdad employs Iraqi journalists to produce video segments about a range of topics on life in Iraq. As you may know, Ali Shafeya Al-Moussawi, a 22 year old correspondent for the show, was killed last Friday, December 14. While the motive and full story of his death remains unclear, the incident highlights the extreme risk these correspondents take in order to produce intimate accounts of day to day life in Iraq.

In today’s interview, Brian offers an account of Ali’s death and discusses the desires of the Iraqi people, the overwhelming shift in public opinion on the U.S.’ involvement in Iraq, and the need for major media outlets to give attention to the issues hindering progress in that country.

Alive’s commitment to producing this type of content is incredibly admirable and invaluable. As a member of the blogging community, we feel compelled to bring their story to our own viewership.
